Rainbow Connection Synesthesia

Description

OH YEAH. JUUUST under the character limit! >D

After years of wondering why I see colors when I listen to music, I did some research online and found a site detailing the condition known as synesthesia. This is a mental... quality - not gonna call it a disorder, because it's essentially a disorder the way being tall is a birth defect. ._. But anyway, I have the sound to sight variety - this means that every sound I hear, every voice and instrument, has a color or image associated with it.

This is one reason why music is such an amazing and vital part of my life. <3 If I lost my hearing, it'd be like losing my sight too. (If you feel like a random conversation about good music, ask me who makes the most colors in my head sometime. n-n)

So one day I decided to digi-paint one of my favorite songs, "The Rainbow Connection", as performed by Kermit the Frog. n_n This is what it sounds/looks like to me. The deeper colors are the eventual fuller orchestral strings and keys; the gold spatters are the banjo, the vibrant rainbow-color are the different higher strings and entire sound... and the green, of course, is Kermie. n_n; It's not just that HE'S green that made it green, Jim Henson's VOICE is green here too. I wonder if he intended that?

Get thee to the above link and listen to the wise froggie! n_n
Who knows - maybe you'll see what I do.

I really like this! It's a beautiful interpretation of the song, and I think it's absolutely fascinating to see what other synesthetes see when they hear music!
